Where are you located and what service/products do you offer?
We are located in Sale, in the North West of England - some say it's part of Manchester, some say it's Cheshire, but we're proud to be part of either! I am Manchester born and bred and Mr Honeyblossom grew up in Cheshire, so whichever people prefer! We are an appointment only bridal boutique which specialises in British designers. We offer wedding dresses, beautiful hand made bridal accessories such as hair vines, belts, hand embroidered vintage hankies and veils as well as a shoe customisation service.
How long have you been involved in the industry?
Having been chief bridesmaid three times for different friends, weddings have always been in my life! I started my journey working part time in a bridal boutique to understand more about the industry - and I loved it. After a year and following a change of management at the boutique, I took a short break to gather my thoughts on joining the industry working for myself, and after a lot of planning, saving (and a few tears!) Honeyblossom Bridal was born in Summer 2016. http://www.honeyblossombridal.co.uk
What planning advice would you give to couples?
Oh there's so much we can say! We got married just last month and one of the things we got told a lot was to take some time out together during the day - we achieved this by having a sweetheart table, and it really gave us time just to chat, reflect and enjoy each other's company. We're super glad we did it as we hardly saw each other the rest of the evening - we were so busy with our guests!
Have you got any trend tips for couples planning their own wedding?
We're seeing the use of sheer fabrics becoming ever popular in wedding gowns, it's such a pretty way to cover up whilst retaining glamour in a wedding dress. For the boys, its all about the peacock groom! More and more brides are coming into the boutique saying that their groom's want something different from the normal wedding attire, whether that's particular accessories, loud fabrics or ditching the ties and cravats it seems grooms want to make as much an impression as the brides! My husband certainly thought this, he wore a hand-made pink suit!
Have any weddings you attended left a lasting impression and why?
I love weddings that are about the bride and groom, with their culture or personalities shining through the details of the day. There are so many examples I can give - in particular when my chief bridesmaid got married, the couple incorporated both Scottish and Iranian cultures into the day through their ceremony, flowers, food, favours and reception, including a traditional Iranian knife dance! It worked beautifully, and it was amazing to be part of their wedding which was so personal to them and inspired us to incorporate my culture into our wedding.
Any other information you like to add?
Don't be afraid to ask questions of your suppliers - there's no such thing as a stupid question! They are there to help and want your day to be just as special as you want it to be. Typically, you're working with the suppliers for a long period of time whilst the wedding is being planned, so it's a great way to build a relationship.
