Where are you located and what service/products do you offer?
We’re a magazine and website located in York but cover the whole of Yorkshire. We offer affordable advertising for Yorkshire wedding businesses and provide inspiration for brides and grooms to be.
How long have you been involved in the industry?
We launched our website and social media in January this year (2017) and our first issue of the magazine is due out early next year (2018) Website: www.bridesofyorkshire.co.uk
What planning advice would you give to couples?
We want couples to be completely themselves on their wedding day so research your suppliers well to see if they can create exactly what you have in mind! Send emails before booking and use our online directory to browse through hundreds of Yorkshire wedding businesses to find the one best suited to you. Also, Pinterest will become your best friend.
Have you got any trend tips for couples planning their own wedding?
We’ve noticed rustic themes are very popular at the minute which means lots of flowers, wood and DIY pieces. On the opposite end, marble is also very popular which can feature on your cake, your stationer, your décor and more. This theme is a bit more subtle and glamorous. But if neither of these are to your taste - then just do you! The theme of the styled shoot featured here is ‘French Blue’ simply because the photographer liked it!
Have any weddings you attended left a lasting impression and why?
A small wedding attended in a church hall which was very much about family and friends was just lovely. The small space was decorated beautifully and suited the couple really well. Big weddings are great if you want a party and loads of extra elements but if budgets are tight and you only want your nearest and dearest around - then go for it!
